The ultimate recyclable

Airstream: The Ultimate Recyclable April 13, 2011

One of my favorite clients, Oakland Park, the first certified green community in Central Florida, has fueled my passion for environmental consciousness. For the record, I’ve been recycling Diet Coke cans for as long as I can remember, but I’ve just ramped it up to a whole new level.

What could be more perfect? A bigger-than-life aluminum can just waiting for a new lease on life. Why build when you can restore? And this venture is going to be eco-friendly in every way possible. I’m talking bamboo floors and original parts.

(I scored big on this front but that’s another true story about my new best friend, Alvin, at FX Studios.)

Today I even found a box of vintage barkcloth in my San Francisco valuables that will be perfect for the interior. And some of those multi-colored metal glasses that get so cold when you put ice in them that it freezes your lips to the glass. Also found some vintage barware that will be perfect for the eventual True Stories office warming.

I will be posting everything I uncover that helps with an

eco-remodel, so stay tuned.
